Tempe in Motion/Valley Metro Bus Service

All Tempe buses are wheelchair accessible and equipped with ramps for convenient elderly and disabled transportation. Bus service operates from approximately 4:30 am to 1 am, Monday through Saturday and from 5 am to 10:30 pm on Sunday. Most Tempe bus routes operate every 15 minutes from 6 am to 9 am and 3 pm to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Tempe also has four free FLASH shuttles circulating the downtown Tempe/ASU area. Bus service is available on all major holidays with service following Sunday schedules. For trip planning call Valley Metro at 602/253-5000 or visit www.valleymetro.org.

Light Rail

Set to open in December 2008, the Valley's Metro light rail system, one of the many convenient vehicles for handicapped mobility, will use low floor vehicles, allowing all passengers (especially those using wheelchairs, etc.) to board quickly and easily. The stations will be fully accessible and designed to maximize shade, safety and ease of use. For more information visit www.valleymetro.org/METRO_light_rail/.

Dial-a-Ride

Dial-a-Ride services are designed for passengers who are unable to access local bus service. Dial-a-Ride is a shared-ride service, meaning the driver may pick up or drop off other passengers before taking you to your destination. In most cases, you can travel within any given Dial-a-Ride service area without transferring to another vehicle. Destinations within another service area may require a transfer to another Dial-a-Ride provider. Dial-a-Ride can help you coordinate transfers.

All ADA trips must be reserved at least one day (up to 14 days) in advance. Subscription trips made on a regular, predictable basis (work trips, for example) require reservations and in some areas may be booked several weeks in advance. For reservations, please contact East Valley Dial-a-Ride at 480/633-0101 or visit www.valleymetro.org/Valley_Metro/Dial-a-Ride/index.htm.
